Neil Kirkpatrick, Ph.D. (Clinical Fellow)

Dr. Kirkpatrick received a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the University of Vermont and completed his predoctoral internship at Morrison Child & Family Services in Portland Oregon. He has considerable training and experience in providing individual and family cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to treat a wide range of problems. Dr. Kirkpatrick has had extensive training and supervision in Behavioral Parent Training, a mode of treatment that has been extensively researched and found to be effective in the treatment of oppositionality, ADHD, aggression, delinquency and defiance in children and adolescents. Dr. Kirkpatrick's primary clinical interest is the treatment of anxiety and conduct disorders. He treats children, adolescents, and adults and provides evidence-based treatment for anxiety disorders (selective mutism, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, agoraphobia, specific phobias, social phobia, generalized anxiety disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder), body-focused repetitive disorders (trichotillomania, skin picking), depression, and stress management. Dr. Kirkpatrick has a particular interest in the treatment of anxiety disorders in children and adolescents. He has worked extensively with younger children and their families (age 8 and to pre-school age) with both behavioral and anxiety problems. He is also a member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT). He also has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with comorbid ADHD and anxiety.
