Jayde Pryzgoda, Ph.D. (Licensed Psychologist)

Dr. Pryzgoda received a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Montana, and completed her predoctoral internship training at the Portland VA Medical Center.  She has a long time interest in recovery from severe stress and anxiety.  She served as a Crisis Services Coordinator providing counseling to survivors of domestic and sexual assault, and has also provided individual and group therapy to veterans recovering from Posttraumatic Stress Disorder.  Her doctoral research focused on Posttraumatic Growth, investigating what facilitates positive life changes in people who have suffered traumatic loss.  Recently Dr. Pryzgoda has assisted the Seattle OCD Support Group in their development of behaviorally focused group meetings which support ongoing recovery and engagement in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).  She has also consulted on the development of a behavioral support group for family members coping with the OCD experiences of their loved ones.  She is a member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, Obsessive Compulsive Foundation, Anxiety Disorders Association of America, and the Washington State Psychological Association.

In her clinical practice, Dr. Pryzgoda works with adults providing Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) for a range of anxiety disorders, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Social Anxiety, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Trichotillomania and compulsive skin picking. She also works with individuals on recovering from depressive disorders. She values providing individualized treatment to help individuals live fuller, more meaningful lives by finding freedom from the constraints of worry, panic, compulsive behaviors, and social stress. She also enjoys consulting with individuals for stress management and personal growth.  Dr. Pryzgoda has strong personal and professional interest in mindfulness meditation.  She is familiar with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy for Depression (MBCT), and uses these approaches to treatment when indicated.
